I have a ChannelMaster DVR based on Android TV and it gets janky if you leave it on live tv for more than a few hours. Also Button Mapper does not work for me.This worked for me - also perhaps this showed up in a recent firmware update?New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castDiscussion of the Android TV Operating System and devices that run it.Press J to jump to the feed. But WHY remove option to reboot?
A right pain. This is where you usually can find it (quite hidden) but on my model it's not even there. The site may not work properly if you don't If you do not update your browser, we suggest you visit Press J to jump to the feed. Is there a bug for my TV or is there any one else missing the reboot option?Same here.
That doesn't work here. (PUS7303)Both Philips 6401 and 7053 have reboot option.
Specially since I several times have had to restart to solve problems.Turn off tv, remove the plug from the socket for 1 to 3 MINUTES (depending on brand Android tv), turn power and tv back on and it will do a real reboot.Discussion of the Android TV Operating System and devices that run it.Looks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser.
Resetting the Philips smart TV to it’s factory settings should solve many common problems. Trust me!Finally found a solution.

So need to go into a hidden service menu to reboot.I have a keyboard that I bought a while ago and it has a function key for ctr+alt+del which reboots the TV easily. I've seen some on Play store which were incompatible with my TVI really wish there was an app you could install to make it more convenient to restart.
hold the power button down for a few seconds to force a reboot.
Having the restart option so far buried is a PITA.The reboot settings doesn't exist on my philips 58pus7304/12 android 9 pie. Sometimes applications crash, the bluetooth remote stops pairing etc and I need to reboot it.Any idea how to reboot it besides unplugging the power cable? Thanks a lot - was seriously thinking it didn't exist!I think that works only on newer OSs... For example my parents' older Philips is stuck on 5.1, and that version doesn't have a reboot button at all. Turn off tv, remove the plug from the socket for 1 to 3 MINUTES (depending on brand Android tv), turn power and tv back on and it will do a real reboot. That’s all there is to it. I guess there is no turn off option so you just pull the plug Because the cords is not placed in a convenient place.
Or not, well that's a bummer.Like someone else mentioned here, I used Button Mapper to map one of the buttons on my remote to open the "Power dialog".which app do you use for Philips? So annoyingly long-winded to reset a Philips Android TV and ironic that it's something you have to do so often to stop it slowing to a crawl. I ended up plugging it into a Wemo switch so I could tell Alexa to turn the android tv off and then back on. Those are completely different from each otherYou could install the button mapper app and bind a color key to the power menu in Android.
Maybe it is removed in PieNewer models seems not. Rebooting my Philips AndroidTV have been impossible. It is super annoying having to memorize a 6 digit number to avoid plug/unplug when Netflix hangs...Why not just shut turn it off and on again when you want to reboot it?
3rd party apps would require root access, which the TV doesn't have of course, so then the only other option would be to unplug. So annoyingly long-winded to reset a Philips Android TV and ironic that it's something you have to do so often to stop it slowing to a crawl. On the Sony one you can (or could?)

Not sure if it will work on Philips, but it works on my Sony TVLong pressing power button should work. Why not have that option somewhere other than in an obscure maintenance menu?? By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. at least there is a way without the "unplug/plug method".Although WTF Philips!?!?!?!
Frickin Philips sure made it close to impossible to reboot the TV. That doesn't work here.Reset or reboot? Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcutsCookies help us deliver our Services.
I cannot find any sane reason for that?
Of course that works. Wrote my model number 7304 in topic to make clear this could be specific to my model.OMG, thanks!! However, if this process doesn’t resolve it then consult the “Troubleshooting” section of your user guide. Have been driving me nuts. Press “OK” and the device will begin reinstalling your television channels.
Really stupid.On mine (7303) it's android settings - about - reboot.
