I certainly saw the death of Captain Georgiou coming, and it was sad to see her be killed, as she was the only character I actually felt met up to the standard of other Star Trek characters (with a few exceptions) in terms of professionalism and poise (kudos to Michelle Yeoh). The "Discovery" Season 2 finale was an opportunity to do something really interesting by taking the best of what's been done before and putting a slightly new spin on it.For instance, the USS Discovery could have used its spore drive to return to Sector 001 — not necessarily Earth, but, say, Alpha Centauri — where Starfleet had managed to muster 15 starships, the best they could do at such short notice. "If I'm meant for a different future, then this thing can't possibly go off while I'm in here," Pike says. You need to empathise with the characters, THEN bring them into conflict. This reminded me more of Mass Effect.

Michael Bay could've made this crap. But when they try to talk with the Klingons, the Klingons respond by attacking and crushing the Federation fleet. Pike (Anson Mount) that the Section 31 drones that have detached have a refracted lattice-shield design — Po knows this because she can see it in the wave patterns, apparently — and they can be destroyed only by targeting both the port and starboard side emitters simultaneously.

This episode should of been the premier. The USS Enterprise-J led the Starfleet forces in the battle.
