Sure that stick is closer to the route, but when i swapped that fire stick with my problematic fire stick in the same location, it still does not pick up the 5Ghz. Wi-Fi routers allow you to change the name of your Wi-Fi network to your liking.
5GHz is faster, and there is no question about it.If you stream heavily and want to connect multiple devices, then 5 GHz is the way for you to go. 5GHz is newer and faster.
But then I run a speed test on my laptop, which is also connected to the 5Ghz connection, and the speed got worse when I selected any one of those channels. 2.4 GHz has a broader range, which means you can use the WiFi a farther distance away from the routers.Not all devices are built to handle 5GHz speed at this time.If you use an older computer or phone, it will not be compatible with that speed on the router. There is also far less interference from other devices like Bluetooth and microwaves at this speed.Have you switched to 5GHz? So, you go channel by channel, setting it by hand, and then testing what works best. You can use any number from 36 up to 48 until you connect to 5GHz. Routers by default will go on “auto”, and if the channel that the router picks isn’t liked by any given device, that device will have a problem connecting or staying connected.

Any tips? My laptop, and desktop both do great on the 5g. Routers have two speeds, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

I called up Amazon to check on the situation and they said I have to adjust the channel on my 5 Ghz network to 36, 40, 48.
